I am a BACP Registered Counsellor. I have a degree in Social Work (BA Hons), Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling and Interpersonal Skills (PGCert) and Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I specialise in a wide range of areas, including attachment, the inner child, domestic abuse, anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, pre / post-natal and relationship issues.
I am an integrative counsellor,
offering a variety of evidence-based counselling services, aiming to create a style that suits your needs.
The aim is to empower you with the knowledge and tools to set boundaries, increase your confidence and self esteem and help you discover your true potential.
My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, compassion, and non-judgement. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where you can feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and feelings, and develop the skills and tools needed to thrive.
My name is Charlotte McFarlane. I am a qualified integrative therapist working face to face in York. I also offer online sessions, as this enables me to work with clients based anywhere in the UK.
I understand how important it is to find a therapist who really seeks to understand and help you find your voice and sense of meaning and purpose. I aim to provide a safe, quiet space for you to share any difficulties that you wish to work through.
My training as an integrative counsellor allows me to draw on a variety of skills and theories which I feel will most support you with what you bring to each session. I may bring attachment theory, inner child work, and Transactional Analysis theory into therapy sessions.
I am happy to work together to help alleviate some of the stresses and difficulties you may be facing, working with methods that work best for your needs.
